As part of Lambeth Open, Topolski Studio presents the work of six young artists, Edwood Burn, Luisa Crosbie, Pat Macdonald, Jack Miller, Jack Wheatley and Georgia Wilson, the Residents of the Chronicle Residency Programme at Topolski Studio.
EDWOOD BURN is a London-born 25 year old Kingston University graduate, specialising in reportage illustration and printmaking. Currently as part of Topolski Studio’s Residency Programme, his work concerns itself with social and political issues that are often overlooked. Never without a sketchbook, he documents the world around him to serve as a way of understanding his environment.
LUISA CROSBIE recently graduated with an Illustration & Animation Degree from Kingston University. Visually, her work tends to be delicate and intricate, focusing on the depiction of contours in an attempt to imply form and shape. Her pursuit of reportage stems not only from the enjoyment gained from the process of drawing but from her curiosity about the behavioural and psychological function of humans.
PAT MACDONALD graduated from Camberwell College of Art with a 1st in Illustration. He tries to make sense of the world around him using photos, imagination, and reportage drawing. He is a freelance Illustrator based in London.
JACK MILLER graduated from South Bank University with a Sociology degree in 2012. He has been working through a series of depressing jobs, using drawing as an outlet to make sense of an increasingly isolating world. In the last three months he has been working with the other Topolski Studio Residents to document events and everyday life through drawing.
JACK WHEATLEY recently graduated from Camberwell College of Arts with a degree in Illustration and is currently part of Topolski Studio’s Residency Programme spending three months doing reportage drawing around London. Jack’s work is based around where ever he is living at the time, reacting directly to his environment through a variety of mediums from pen and ink to pencil and watercolour wash.
GEORGIA WILSON graduated in Illustration from Sir John Cass Faculty of Art at London Metropolitan University in 2014. She has worked as an Artist’s Assistant to FishBoy, Pop Up Brighton. Her practice involves reportage drawing, painting, printmaking and sewing.
